We are Steve and Dana, and along with our vineyard partner, Ardy, we are up and coming great wine makers.. we hope...
We are located right here, inside the city limits of Los Angeles, in a little hide-a-way spot called La Tuna Canyon. Until now, known mostly for being one of the last equestrian neighborhoods left in LA.
In
the summer of 2006, with a little help from our boys, we planeted
our first 3000 Cabernet vines on some of our south facing slopes...
and are we excited!!! You'd think they were our children the way we dote
over them. We plan on planting about 3000 more
per year for the next 3 or 4 years.
In process of learning more about the true art of
wine making from vine to bottle, we found
that our great city used to be filled with vineyards, only to have
been wiped out
during prohibition. The Wilshire area used to be vineyards as far
as the eye could see.
Well much of the local wine history seems to have been scattered,
so we're putting interesting tid bits here to share with our friends.
